How to Get Traffic to Your Website for Free – Newbie Friendly Method!

In this post you’re going to find out how to get traffic to your website for free! This easy method will help you get more visitors going to your website so you can make money.

A couple of years ago I used to run a tech blog where I would post Windows tutorials, tech news, and anything computer related.

In just a couple months I was able to take that blog from 0 visitors to over 1,000 visitors a day. And it was doing exactly what I’m about to show you…

The way this work is we’re going to be posting on other people’s websites and getting a link back to our own website. This is called guest posting and it’s one of the most powerful ways to get traffic online.

It’s called guest posting because you’re literally being a guest on somebody elses site and submitting an article to it.

For my technology blog, I would post articles on any sites related to computers or Windows. At the end of each article I would write something like, “If you want more computer tips and trick, make sure you head over to my website here!” and I’d link them back to my blog.

I was able to get thousands of visitors doing this.

In this tutorial, I want to show you exactly how to find websites to guest post on and give you more information on how to go about doing it.

How to Get Traffic to Your Website for Free

Firs thing you need to do is head over to Google. We’re going to do a little bit of Google magic in the search bar.

Here’s the magic search string you need to type in:

“write for us” + NICHE

This is going to pull up a big list of websites that you can go and post on right now.

For example, if you’re in the Internet marketing niche, you’d replace “NICHE” in the example above with something like “Internet marketing”. If you’re in the dog niche, you’ll put in “dogs” or maybe even “dog training.” If you’re in tomato growing, you’ll put in “tomato growing.”

Play around with different topics that somebody in your niche would be interested in.

After you’ve done that, press enter. This search string brings up all the websites that have the phrase, “write for us,” on their site and that are related to the niche you put in.

Go through each of the websites Google pulled up for you.

One thing to keep in mine is not all sites are going to be the same! Some sites will be more lenient when it comes to the type of article they’re looking for, while others will be more picky.

The most important thing you have to do is to make sure the website you’re going to post too has traffic going to it.  I don’t want to spend hours (maybe even a couple of days) writing an amazing blog post that gets no hits to it. It’s a terrible use of my time and a total waste of a good article that I could have submitted somewhere else.

You can check how active the site is by seeing how many social media followers they have, how many comments they get per blog post, checking their Alexa rank, etc.

If you want to get more traffic to your website you need to make sure there is activity on the sites you guest post on. I can’t stress this enough!

How to Get Traffic with Guest Posts

On the “Write For Us” pages you’ll find an outline that tells you what they’re looking for and how to contact them. For example, it might say your article must be 500-plus words, original and unpublished. It must be written in English and completely unique, etc.

Once you’ve found a site that gets a lot of traffic, engagement, activity, and that’s related to your niche, go contact them.

I’ll usually just send them a message like, “Hey, my name is Edwin. I’m from XYZ blog. I’m interested in writing for your website. I’m interested in writing a post about XYZ. Let me know if this is something that your audience resonates with”. Doing this will let you get a little back and forth with the admin or whoever is in charge of the guest posting process. You can get a better idea of what type of posts work better on their site.

If they agree just send over the blog post. It really is that simple.

Another thing I want to stress is making sure your posts are high quality good posts. Your guest posts will get accepted much easier if you submit a quality article and not something trashy like PLR or spun content. Just because you spent time writing a 500-word or 700-word article, it does not mean that they will automatically accept it.

Don’t be surprised if you get a message saying, “Hey, this doesn’t live up to our standards. Thank you, but no thank you”. Make sure you don’t waste your time by making sure all your posts are super high quality.

Once they’ve accepted your article, this is where the fun begins. You’re going to have a rush of people clicking on your link at the end of the post checking you out for more information.

I recommend linking to a squeeze page so you can get email subscribers and build a list. Here’s a video I made which shows you how to grow your email list fast!

Wrapping Up…

The more you guest post, the more the traffic you’ll get.

Over time each guest post you write will stack up one top of the other and you’ll have this HUGE avalanche of traffic going to your website every single day.

Make sure you go and take action on this!
