Here’s how to increase your sales just by implementing 3 simple shifts in the way you market online.
The movie ‘The Wolf of Wallstreet’ is pure gold for any marketer to watch. It’s sprinkled with tons of little lessons on cold calling, convincing people to buy, winning mindsets to have, how to be successful, what not to do when success comes, and the list goes on and on.
Jordan Belfort, the real life guy that the movie is based around, is a selling genius. Selling literally runs through his blood. He lives, eats, and breathes it.
If you’re not familiar with the story behind ‘The Wolf of Wallstreet’, back in the late 80’s and early 90’s Jordan Belfort ran the most profitable penny stocks business at the time.
It’s estimated they were making around $100 million dollars a month. No, that wasn’t a typo 😉
Belfort attributes his massive success to one thing…Being able to teach a foolproof system he called “straight line persuasion” to his employees.
This system allowed him to train anyone to make lots of money. He was known for turning drug-addicted high school dropouts, into multi-millionaires in very little time.
Impressive to say the least.
“Straight line persuasion” gives you a straight path to follow from cold calling, getting them to listen to you, building massive rapport and trust, to closing the actual sale.
After researching more into this system Belfort says there are three things you MUST do if you want to immediately command the attention of the person you’re trying to sell to.
Without doing these three things you are limiting your ability to persuade the person into taking out their credit card and buy from you.
Here is what they are:
1. Be enthusiastic as hell!
You have to be passionate about whatever you’re selling. If you sound bored or disconnected, the potential customer will sense that and put their guards up.
2. Be sharp as a tack!
If you’re not quick on your feet, and don’t have any answers to their objections you lose. Confidence is one of the best attributes ANY salesmen should have. The more knowledgeable you are, the better you can help them out with their questions.
3. Be a figure of authority!
If you’re trying to sell a weight loss product but you’re currently overweight than people won’t believe you’re an authority on weight loss. If you are selling a dog training product, but dogs won’t obey you when you give them a command than you aren’t seen as an authority on dogs.
It’s important you present yourself as an authority figure on whatever topic you’re trying to sell.
Those are three things you can start implementing right away to drastically improve your conversions.
Now that you know how to grab the attention of your potential customer, its crucial that you learn how to persuade them to buy.
